Student Unions Demand Resignation Over NEET and NET Exam Controversies
Student unions in Andhra Pradesh are calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following the NEET-UG controversy and the abrupt cancellation of the UGC-NET exam. The Student Federation of India (SFI) criticized the government for its handling of these exams, which has affected over 9 lakh candidates.
They demanded that universities conduct their own exams for PhD admissions, bypassing the compromised NET. The Progressive Democratic Student Union (PDSU) echoed these sentiments, urging a comprehensive investigation into the NEET fiasco and calling on state authorities to correct previous educational policy missteps and ensure affordable education.
