Student Leaders Arrested in Vijayawada Over NEET Paper Leak Protest

In Vijayawada, student leaders from various unions, including AISF, SFI, PDSU, AISA, and NSUI, were arrested during a protest against the NEET paper leak and other irregularities in exams conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The demonstrators demanded a comprehensive investigation into the leaks, the dissolution of the NTA, and the resignation of Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan.

They criticized the government’s failure to address the repeated paper leaks, which they claim jeopardizes the future of millions of students. The protestors also opposed the ‘one nation one examination’ policy, alleging it facilitates the privatization of education. Despite the recent removal of NTA Director General Subodh Singh and the formation of a high-level committee to ensure fair exams, tensions remain high as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probes the incidents.
