Stern Measures Against Corrupt Traffic Police in Chennai

Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, R. Sudhakar, has issued a strong warning against corruption among traffic police during vehicle checks, stating that those caught accepting bribes will face suspension or dismissal. Emphasizing the need to uphold the integrity of the force, Sudhakar stressed that any individual caught tarnishing the reputation of the traffic police would be removed from the traffic wing.

He called on Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners to curb this issue, warning that failure to do so could result in departmental action against them. This announcement follows the suspension of a sub-inspector and two constables, caught on video accepting bribes during a vehicle check in Doveton.
