SRMIST Hosts International Bioengineering Conference
The School of Bioengineering at S.R.M. Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) recently organized a three-day international conference titled ‘New Horizons in Bioengineering: Fostering Academia-Industry Partnership.’ The event, inaugurated by Rakesh Kumar Mishra of the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society, witnessed the release of 300 abstracts for oral and poster presentations.
With over 800 participants, including industrial stakeholders, the conference provided a platform for sharing insights on scientific domains and exploring the latest biotechnology-based innovations. Distinguished speakers from India and abroad, such as Nicola Patridge from New York University and Chandra Varma from the Bioinformatics Institute, Singapore, delivered lectures, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
