South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is scheduled to make a state visit to the UK in November to commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. During his visit, President Yoon will meet with King Charles III, marking the first state guests received by Britain since the monarch’s coronation in May.
The visit comes at the invitation of King Charles III and serves as a significant milestone in the historic relationship between the UK and South Korea, dating back to the signing of a treaty of friendship, commerce, and navigation in 1883 between Britain and the Joseon Dynasty, Korea’s predecessor.
