Anticipating the opening of the second domestic terminal (T4 terminal) at Chennai Airport, A. J. Balaji, CEO of the Olympia Group, assured that there won’t be any traffic congestion within the airport premises. Balaji highlighted that comprehensive traffic planning has been executed, and the necessary resources will be in place to effectively manage the situation.
The design for the T4 terminal and its integrated parking facility, which includes retail, food and beverage outlets, and entertainment options, aims to provide a seamless experience for passengers. The airport previously faced complaints about traffic congestion and queues for vehicles when the multi-level car parking (MLCP) was opened, with some issues persisting.
Passengers have expressed concerns about the difficulty of accessing the MLCP and, in some cases, being charged for parking fees despite exiting the airport premises within the specified time. In response, Balaji emphasized that there is no congestion and that issues raised by passengers have been addressed, often stemming from misinterpretations.
