In a recent encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur, security forces engaged in anti-Naxal operations successfully neutralized six alleged Naxalites, including two women cadres. The gunfight erupted in forest areas near Chikurbhatti and Pusbaka villages under the Basaguda police station jurisdiction.
Led by a joint team comprising the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the operation also involved the elite CoBRA unit. Following the encounter, authorities recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and daily-use items from the site. The incident underscores the ongoing efforts to curb left-wing extremism in the Bastar region, particularly as the area gears up for Lok Sabha elections in the coming phases.
