Six arrested for IPL cricket gambling in Chennai
The Greater Chennai City Police have arrested six individuals for allegedly participating in gambling on an IPL cricket match between the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad teams. Acting on orders from the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore, a special team monitored a mobile phone shop in Sowcarpet.
The arrests were made following surveillance, leading to the apprehension of Y. Sandeep, T. Kathes, P. Rajesh Kumar, T. Thiraj, S. Ankit Jain, and Jitender. Cash amounting to ₹14,050 and four mobile phones were confiscated from the suspects.
