A special investigation team (SIT) led by Deputy Inspector General Thomson Jose and District Police Chief P. Bijoy has intensified the search for a suspect involved in the abduction and sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl in Padanakkad, Kasaragod.
The incident occurred early on May 15, when the suspect entered the house through an open door and later abandoned the girl a kilometer away. The child is receiving treatment at Kanhangad district hospital. A 20-member team has detained seven individuals for questioning, and surveillance has been heightened along potential escape routes.
