The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is closed to vehicular traffic due to multiple shooting stones and slippery road conditions at Mehad and Dallas. Jammu and Kashmir Traffic police advise people not to travel without confirmation from Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
Clearance work is currently underway to address the issues on the highway. The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway serves as the lifeline of the Kashmir valley, connecting it with the rest of the country. Essential supplies and other vehicles bound for Kashmir pass through this highway, and fruit-carrying trucks from Kashmir’s head to other parts of the country through this road.
