Shift in Focus Towards Revival of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant
BJP Andhra Pradesh State president D. Purandeswari has emphasized a notable shift in the Central government’s approach, moving away from the proposed disinvestment of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) towards its revival. Purandeswari highlighted that the focus is now on making the plant financially viable and profitable, rather than divesting its shares.
Assuring that the Ministry of Steel is actively monitoring the daily performance of VSP, she underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring the plant’s profitability. Additionally, addressing public concerns regarding the plant’s land ownership, Purandeswari clarified that the proposed disinvestment would not entail losing the land bank associated with VSP, reassuring stakeholders about the continuity of land assets even in the event of divestment.
