SFI Members Arrested Outside U.S. Consulate in Chennai

Members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) were arrested in Chennai while attempting to protest outside the U.S. Consulate. They were condemning the U.S. government’s support for Israel amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Palestine.

The students, joining global protests against the war, gathered near the consulate and began shouting slogans. However, police swiftly detained them as the location was deemed a ‘high-security’ area, and they did not have permission for the protest. The arrested students were later released in the evening.
