Security Guard Injured in Accidental Gunfire While Cleaning Weapon in Chennai

A 30-year-old security guard, identified as Ranasingh Harindra, accidentally discharged his licensed gun while cleaning it at a private cash management firm on Harrington Road in Chetpet, Chennai. The incident resulted in an injury to his waist on the right side. Harindra, originally from Bihar, was working as a gunman for the cash management company, which also handles cash filling at ATMs.

He was promptly taken to the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for treatment, and his condition is reported as stable. The Chennai police have initiated an investigation into the incident, with officers from the Chetpet Police Station leading the inquiry.
