Security Forces Neutralize Eight Naxalites in Bijapur Encounter
In a significant anti-insurgency operation, security personnel engaged in an encounter with Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, resulting in the death of eight insurgents. The firefight occurred during an anti-Naxal operation conducted by a joint team of security forces near Lendra village under Gangaloor police station area.
Forces involved in the operation included the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force, CRPF, and CoBRA. Following the exchange of fire, four Naxalite bodies were initially recovered, along with weapons, with four more discovered later. The encounter highlights the ongoing efforts of security forces to combat Naxal insurgency in the Bastar region, where 41 insurgents have been neutralized this year.
