On Monday, a potential disaster was averted as security forces detected and successfully defused an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Jammu and Kashmir. The alert was raised when a suspicious object was discovered on the busy Srinagar-Baramulla highway.
A joint team comprising Rashtriya Rifles, local police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) swiftly responded to the situation. The bomb disposal squad was called in to handle the IED, ensuring the safety of commuters and passersby. After the successful defusal, traffic on the highway was restored to normal.
