The Himachal Pradesh Police, aided by various agencies including the National Disaster Response Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Army, and Navy, has escalated efforts to locate Vetri Duraisamy, the son of former Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy. Vetri Duraisamy went missing after the car he was traveling in plunged into the Sutlej River on Sunday.
Despite an extensive search conducted throughout Monday, his whereabouts remained unknown. However, on Tuesday, search teams discovered parts of a body believed to be Vetri Duraisamy’s. The recovered remains were sent to a forensic laboratory for DNA extraction and analysis to confirm the identity.
The police have requested divers, including Navy special divers, to assist in intensifying the search efforts. The accident occurred near Kashang Nalah in Kinnaur district when the vehicle lost control and fell into the river, resulting in the driver’s death and injuries to another occupant, Gopi Nath.
