Russia Releases 22 Ukrainian Servicemen in Prisoner Exchange
Russian authorities have freed 22 Ukrainian servicemen who were held as prisoners of war, as announced by a senior official in Kyiv. Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President, stated that among those released are two officers, privates, and non-commissioned officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The released soldiers, aged between 23 and 54 years, had participated in battles across different areas, with some being wounded. Each released soldier will undergo physical and psychological rehabilitation, reintegration, and necessary medical treatment.
The Human Rights Commissioner in the Ukrainian Parliament noted that some of the released soldiers were injured. This marks the 48th exchange of prisoners since the conflict began in February 2022, and a total of 2,598 Ukrainians have been released from Russian captivity so far.
