Russia Denies U.S. Accusation of Chemical Weapon Use in Ukraine
On Thursday, Russia rejected a U.S. accusation that its forces in Ukraine violated the international ban on chemical weapons. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow remained committed to its obligations under the treaty that prohibits chemical weapons.
The denial came in response to the U.S. accusation that Russia had used substances, including the prohibited choking agent chloropicrin, against Ukrainian troops. According to Mr. Peskov, the U.S. claims were “absolutely unfounded” and lacked supporting evidence.
