Robber Shot During Attempted Escape in Hubballi

On the morning of July 26, a robbery suspect, Farhan Sheikh, was shot in the leg by police in Hubballi after he assaulted officers during an escape attempt. Arrested on July 25 for a jewellery shop burglary, Sheikh, a notorious criminal with a history of serious offenses across multiple states, attempted to flee while being interrogated.

Sub-Inspector Kavita Madagyal first fired warning shots before injuring Sheikh in the leg to prevent his escape. Both the suspect and the assaulted officers, Constables Sujata and Mahesh, are receiving treatment at KIMS Hospital. Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar visited the hospital to check on their condition.
