RLD’s Decision to Join NDA: Consultation and Circumstances
Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary has confirmed the party’s decision to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Chaudhary emphasized that the decision was made after thorough consultations with MLAs and party leaders, taking into account prevailing circumstances.
Despite reports of some RLD MLAs expressing discontent, Chaudhary affirmed the party’s commitment to serving the people and highlighted the significance of Chaudhary Charan Singh’s legacy in advocating for farmers, youth, and the poor.
The announcement coincided with the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Ajit Singh, further underscoring the familial and ideological ties guiding RLD’s political trajectory. Speculation about a potential BJP-RLD alliance arose in 2023, and Chaudhary’s absence during a critical voting session fueled rumors, signaling a strategic shift in the party’s political alliances.
