Addressing a press conference on July 25, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju lambasted the Opposition for their approach during the Union Budget debate. Rijiju asserted that the Opposition prioritized “abusing” Prime Minister Narendra Modi over engaging in substantive discussion on budgetary matters.
He emphasized the importance of respecting the people’s mandate, highlighting that Modi was elected for a third consecutive term. Rijiju condemned the Opposition’s accusations of a “discriminatory” Budget and their claims of a “shaky” coalition government. He called for a civilised and constructive debate, urging political leaders to prevent disorder in Parliament and focus on India’s development goals.
