Revanth Reddy Advocates Sharmila’s Leadership as A.P. Lacks True Opposition
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A. Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for a strong opposition in Andhra Pradesh, stating that since bifurcation, power has predominantly rotated among “B-J-P, Babu-Jagan-Pawan”. He believes that all these leaders have aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leaving a void in effective opposition. Revanth Reddy sees Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s daughter, Sharmila, as capable of filling this gap as the president of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).
At the 75th birth anniversary celebrations of YSR, he praised the late leader’s dedication to public welfare and urged for leaders committed to YSR’s ideals rather than engaging in political opportunism. Revanth Reddy pledged his support for Sharmila to continue her father’s legacy and expressed confidence in the Congress party’s prospects in future elections, aiming to fulfill YSR’s wish by making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister in 2029.
