Retired Army Personnel Killed in Train Accident in Tiruvottiyur

Tragedy struck in Tiruvottiyur as a 46-year-old retired army personnel, Ramesh, lost his life after being run over by a freight train.

Ramesh, employed as a security guard at a steel factory, met with the fatal accident while opening the gates for the arriving train on Wednesday night. The Government Railway Police (GRP) have initiated an investigation into the incident and filed a case. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at Government Stanley Hospital.
