Residents of Ashok Nagar Demand Traffic Signal Installation

The residents of Ashok Nagar, particularly along the congested 11th and 12th Avenues, are urging the Chennai Corporation and Greater Chennai Traffic Police to install a traffic signal at the junction. The increasing traffic flow, coupled with the absence of pedestrian crossings, has led to frequent accidents involving both vehicles and pedestrians.

Despite the persistent safety concerns, authorities have yet to take action. While there is currently no plan for signal installation, a traffic police officer mentions that an audit will be conducted upon residents’ request. The need for pedestrian safety and efficient traffic management underscores the urgency for installing a signal at this busy junction.
