Rescued Boy from Confinement to Receive Rehabilitation
A 13-year-old boy, confined to his home for over five years by his mentally ill mother and grandmother in Vijayawada, has been rescued by the NTR District Integrated Child Protection Unit (ICPU). The boy, found unable to speak or walk properly and living in squalid conditions, was taken to a childcare home for rehabilitation.
Local residents had repeatedly alerted authorities, prompting the rescue. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) is overseeing his rehabilitation, while the Women Development and Child Welfare (WD&CW) officials plan to provide necessary medical treatment for his mother and grandmother.
