Repairs Initiated on Damaged TPP Road in North Chennai After Cyclone Impact
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has commenced repairs on two segments of the Tiruvotriyur-Ponneri-Panchetti Road in North Chennai. The road sustained damage during Cyclone Michaung, with the jersey-type crash barrier broken at 14 locations to facilitate water flow. The affected 4 km stretch between Andarkuppam and Vichoor experienced surface damage due to water stagnation and heavy vehicle usage.
NHAI officials noted that repairs are within the scope of the road’s recent re-laying, and no additional costs will be incurred by the contractor. The road serves several industrial units and container freight stations in the region.
