Renovation Drive for Jain Temples Initiated by HR&CE Minister

Minister P. K. Sekarbabu announced a significant allocation of ₹5 crore for the renovation of 16 Jain temples under the jurisdiction of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department. Emphasizing the preservation of heritage characteristics, the Minister assured that renovations would maintain the original structure of these temples.

Additionally, decisions made by the high-level committee, chaired by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, include plans to renovate 500 temples with annual incomes below ₹10,000 and provide increased grants for repairs to village temples and those in SC/ST habitations.

Furthermore, initiatives such as free health check-ups for temple staff, construction of houses for archakas, and organizing a world conference on Lord Murugan demonstrate the government’s commitment to bolstering temple infrastructure and welfare measures.
