Remote-Controlled Robots to Enhance Firefighting Operations in Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh fire department is set to introduce remote-controlled robots in firefighting operations, enhancing its capabilities in handling emergencies, especially in challenging environments such as chemical factories or difficult-to-access locations. Avinash Chandra, Director General of Police (DGP), UP Fire and Emergency Services, highlighted the utility of these robots in scenarios where human access may be challenging.
The robots, equipped with wireless remote control, cameras, and water spray capabilities, can ascend stairs and navigate fire sites with ease. Lucknow firefighters will also receive advanced equipment, including a multi-articulated water tower capable of maneuvering through narrow lanes and reaching heights of 24 meters. This technological upgrade aims to improve response times and efficiency in handling fire emergencies across the state.
