Release on Bail for Passenger Assaulting IndiGo Pilot Over Delay

Sahil Kataria, the 28-year-old involved in assaulting an IndiGo Airlines pilot due to a 13-hour flight delay, has been released on bail. The incident, occurring on a flight to Goa, saw Kataria’s frustration boil over into an altercation with the pilot, prompting the latter to file a complaint. The Delhi Police registered an FIR, and Kataria was served a notice under Section 41 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

A viral video captured the accused confronting the pilot during an announcement about the delay, demanding either departure or gate opening. Another video showed Kataria apologizing to the pilot during deboarding. The incident highlights the escalating frustrations passengers face during flight disruptions, emphasizing the need for effective communication and conflict resolution.
