Rajasthan’s Domestic Tourism Surges with 394% YoY Growth
Rajasthan is witnessing a remarkable surge in domestic tourism, recording a staggering 394% year-on-year growth. Tourist destinations like Udaipur, Jaipur, and Mt Abu are teeming with visitors from Delhi-NCR, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. The influx has resulted in high demand for accommodations and rental vehicles, with advanced bookings being essential to secure a spot.
The recent announcement of the Sarva Dharm Teerth Circuit has been a major catalyst for this surge, with religious tourism experiencing a significant uptick. The Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO) advises domestic tourists to make early bookings to avoid last-minute stress.
Tourists from various states, including Gujarat, Delhi-NCR, Karnataka, and West Bengal, are flocking to Rajasthan, particularly to wildlife-rich areas like Sawai Madhopur and Kumbhalgarh. Notably, Udaipur’s popularity is such that it’s fully booked even for December and January, earning it the second spot on a list of beautiful world cities.
