Rajasthan Gets 19 New Districts and 3 Divisions in Inauguration Ceremony
In a significant development, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated 19 new districts and three divisions in Rajasthan on Monday. The inauguration ceremony took place at the new district headquarters, and CM Gehlot joined the event through Video Conference (VC) at Birla Auditorium. Before the inauguration of the new districts, the Chief Minister offered prayers and performed a Havan.
Revenue Minister Ramlal Jat also participated in the ceremony through VC. The formation of these new districts and divisions was officially notified by the government recently, increasing the total count to 50 districts and 10 divisions in the state. Earlier, Rajasthan had 33 districts and seven divisions.
However, during the announcement, protests led to the retention of Jaipur and Jodhpur districts, while new districts were named Jaipur Rural and Jodhpur Rural. The 19 new districts are Anupgarh, Balotra, Beawar, Kekri, Jaipur Rural, Dudu, Kotputli-Behror, Neem Ka Thana, Khairthal-Tijara, Sanchore, Didwana-Kuchaman, Shahpura, Jodhpur Rural, Phalodi, Salumber, Gangapur City, and Deeg.
