The hearing in the 2018 defamation case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, concerning alleged objectionable remarks targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has been postponed to June 18. The postponement occurred due to the demise of a lawyer, leading to a condolence meeting in the court on June 6. Rahul Gandhi last appeared in court in February, where he was granted bail.
The complaint was filed by BJP leader Vijay Mishra following remarks made by Gandhi during a press conference in Bengaluru in May 2018, during the Karnataka elections. Gandhi’s comments had referenced Shah’s alleged involvement in a murder case, sparking the legal action.
