Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that preparations are underway for President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India, highlighting the dynamic political dialogue between the two nations.
Lavrov praised the long-standing and resilient relationship between Russia and India, which continues to evolve based on mutual respect and shared interests. He emphasized that both countries share common views on the emerging multipolar world order, reinforcing their equal cooperation.
Lavrov also noted the significant contributions of both leaders, especially Prime Minister Modi’s first bilateral visit to Russia after his re-election. The Russian President’s visit, expected in early 2025, is part of an annual tradition of high-level meetings between the two nations. Lavrov also highlighted the remarkable growth in trade and economic ties, with bilateral trade exceeding $60 billion in 2024 and a target to reach $100 billion by 2030.
He lauded India’s independent and multi-vector foreign policy and its influential role in global governance, noting the shared commitment to democratizing international relations and supporting the Global South.
