Putin Advocates for Peaceful Resolution in Ukraine Conflict
Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed support for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, provided that the underlying causes of the war are addressed.
He emphasized that Moscow is ready to engage with Europe on the settlement but remains cautious of overly trusting the West, citing past instances of inconsistency.
Putin also stated that while Russia is open to discussions, it remains wary of potential Western interventions, particularly the idea of peacekeepers in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron, in contrast, has outlined plans to support Ukraine’s military future, while reaffirming that lifting sanctions on Russia is premature.
The ongoing diplomatic efforts between Russia and the US aim at resolving the conflict, with the Black Sea initiative being a focal point of recent discussions. The Russian Foreign Ministry has strongly opposed any Western military intervention under the guise of peacekeeping operations.
