Progress and Challenges in A.P.-T.S. Bifurcation Talks

In a key meeting held in Mangalagiri on December 2, 2024, the Chief Secretaries of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Neerabh Kumar Prasad and A. Santhi Kumari, revisited unresolved issues from the A.P. Reorganisation Act, 2014. Discussions primarily focused on dividing institutions listed under Schedules 9 and 10, where earlier efforts had seen limited success.

Other critical topics included Telangana’s electricity dues to Andhra Pradesh, the allocation of funds for undivided institutions, and the equitable sharing of tax revenue. The meeting served as a follow-up to the discussions initiated by the Chief Ministers of both states in July 2024, signaling continued efforts to address longstanding bifurcation-related challenges.
