Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate Railway Projects in Karnataka
Several railway projects in Karnataka are set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 26th, as part of a broader initiative to enhance infrastructure across the country. Among these projects is the laying of the foundation stone for a road overbridge near Annigeri, signifying a significant step towards improving transportation connectivity in the region. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and MLA N.H. Konaraddi will participate in the local program organized for this occasion.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will oversee the commencement of the redevelopment of 553 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a monumental undertaking aimed at modernizing and revitalizing key transportation hubs across the nation. The inauguration of the redeveloped Gomti Nagar Railway Station is also on the agenda, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing passenger experiences and fostering economic growth through improved rail infrastructure. Furthermore, various railway projects worth ₹1192.86 crore in the South Western Railway will be dedicated and initiated by the Prime Minister through video conferencing, underscoring the government’s focus on boosting regional development and connectivity.
These initiatives, including the revamp of 34 stations in Karnataka alone, are poised to transform railway stations into modern, multi-modal transit hubs equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to meet the evolving needs of passengers and enhance overall travel experiences. Moreover, the construction of numerous road overbridges and underbridges will facilitate seamless transit for both rail and road traffic, ensuring safety and efficiency in transportation networks across the South Western Railway jurisdiction. With these projects, Prime Minister Modi aims to promote ease of travel, stimulate economic activities, and provide a major boost to regional development in Karnataka and beyond, aligning with the government’s vision of a modern and efficient transportation infrastructure network.
