Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 7th edition of the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023 at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan. During the event, PM Modi will award 100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ to educational institutions across India. These labs are part of the ‘100 5G Labs Initiative,’ aimed at realizing the potential of 5G technology and encouraging the development of applications tailored to India’s unique requirements and global demands.
This initiative is expected to drive innovation across various sectors, including education, agriculture, health, power, and transportation, positioning India at the forefront of 5G technology usage. It is also a crucial step in building a 6G-ready academic and startup ecosystem and developing indigenous telecom technology vital for national security. IMC 2023, with the theme ‘Global Digital Innovation,’ aims to bolster India’s role as a developer, manufacturer, and exporter of cutting-edge technologies.
The three-day event will focus on technologies such as 5G, 6G, artificial intelligence, and address issues related to the semiconductor industry, green technology, and cybersecurity. Additionally, IMC 2023 is introducing a startup program called ‘Aspire’ to foster connections between startups, investors, and established businesses, fostering fresh entrepreneurial initiatives and collaborations.
