Preplanned Murder of Woman Software Engineer by Classmate in Ponmar, Chennai
The murder of a 24-year-old woman software engineer, R. Nandhini, in Ponmar, Chennai, has been revealed as a preplanned crime committed by her classmate and close friend. Vetrimaran, who underwent gender transformation surgery, reportedly murdered Nandhini after she rejected his marriage proposal. The suspect allegedly slit her veins, tied her up, and set her on fire.
The incident occurred in an under-construction building in Vedhagiri Nagar. Passersby who witnessed the fire rushed to the scene, but Nandhini succumbed to her injuries. The police investigation led to the arrest of Vetrimaran, who confessed to the crime. The motive behind the murder was Vetrimaran’s obsession with Nandhini and her rejection of his marriage proposal. The police commissioner stated that the investigation revealed it was a preplanned murder.
