Police Issue Notices for Attempted Attack on Murder Suspect in Karnataka Family Killing

Karnataka Police have issued notices to 11 individuals for allegedly attempting to attack the accused jilted lover involved in the murder of four family members in Nejaru near Udupi city. The accused, Praveen Arun Chougale, confessed to killing Haseena (46), Afnan (23), Aynaz (21), and Aseem (12) due to issues related to friendship, love, and financial matters.

When police brought Chougale for a spot probe at the victims’ residence, angry locals tried to attack him. The police issued notices to those involved in the attempted attack. The incident had sparked concerns in the region, with FIRs filed for the celebration of the murders by Hindu activists and a social media comment suggesting a missed opportunity to lynch the accused during the police visit.
