Police Complaint Registered After 89 Girls Allegedly Missing from UP Government Hostel
A police complaint has been lodged against four individuals, including the hostel warden, following a surprise inspection that revealed 89 out of 100 girls allegedly missing from a state government-run residential school hostel in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh. District Magistrate Neha Sharma conducted the impromptu inspection at the Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School in Paraspur late on Monday.
Only 11 girls were found present, prompting concern and reprimand from the District Magistrate. The school authorities were questioned about the missing students, but no clear answers were provided. Investigations unveiled financial irregularities, including fake attendance records, leading to the lodging of an FIR against the hostel warden, a full-time teacher, the watchman, and a Prantiya Raksha Dal (PRD) jawan. The school warden, teacher, watchman, and PRD jawan have been held responsible for the safety of the students.
