PM Modi Speaks to Rescued Workers from Uttarakhand Tunnel, Applauds Rescue Operation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally spoke to the workers who were successfully rescued from Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel after a 17-day marathon rescue operation. During the late-night phone call on Tuesday, Modi enquired about the health and well-being of the rescued construction workers, encouraging them after their harrowing experience.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister had a conversation with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, obtaining information about the arrangements for the evacuated workers. Modi commended the entire team involved in the rescue operation, describing the safe evacuation of all 41 laborers as an emotional moment for the nation.
He praised their bravery and determination, emphasizing the exemplary display of humanity and teamwork. Dhami conveyed to the Prime Minister that the evacuated workers have been taken to the hospital at Chinyalisaur for necessary health check-ups, and arrangements have been made to reunite them with their families. Dhami attributed the success of the operation to the efficient guidance of PM Modi and the coordinated efforts of central and state agencies.
