PM Modi Pays Tribute on Vijay Diwas, Commemorating 1971 War Victory
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the heroes of India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war on the occasion of Vijay Diwas. In a post on X, PM Modi stated that their valour and dedication remain a source of immense pride for the nation. He acknowledged the sacrifices and unwavering spirit of the heroes, expressing gratitude and saluting their courage.
President Droupadi Murmu also paid homage, remembering the selfless sacrifice made by the armed forces during the 1971 war. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, along with other top military officials, paid respects at the National War Memorial. Vijay Diwas marks the decisive victory that led to the birth of Bangladesh, observed annually to commemorate the historical event.
