PM Modi Offers Assistance After 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Myanmar and Thailand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concern and offered India’s full support following the powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand.

The earthquake, with its epicenter near Sagaing, Myanmar, caused severe damage, including collapsed buildings in the Mandalay Region and damaged roads between Mandalay and Yangon.

Despite no confirmed casualties, the tremors were felt across neighboring countries, including Thailand, northeast India, and China, creating panic and widespread alarm.

In response, PM Modi assured India’s readiness to provide all possible assistance and instructed authorities to stay on standby.

Myanmar’s rescue teams have been working diligently to search for survivors and assist those trapped under debris. The Indian government, through the Ministry of External Affairs, is also in contact with Myanmar and Thailand to offer help in the ongoing crisis.
