People across Assam celebrate Bohag Bihu, also known as Rongali Bihu, with great energy and happiness. It marks the arrival of spring and the Assamese New Year. Families clean their homes, wear traditional clothes, prepare special food, and take part in folk songs and dances.
Farmers in Assam also see Bohag Bihu as a time to start a new farming cycle. They offer prayers for a good harvest. Young people greet elders and seek blessings. The community comes together to celebrate the beauty of nature and the strength of their culture.
