Marking International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a notable reduction of ₹100 in the prices of LPG gas cylinders, offering substantial relief to households nationwide. Emphasizing the significance of easing financial burdens, particularly for women, the Prime Minister highlighted the move’s aim to support family well-being and promote a healthier environment.
This reduction aligns with the government’s commitment to empowering women and enhancing their ‘Ease of Living,’ as stated in Mr. Modi’s announcement on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, the government extended the ₹300 per LPG cylinder subsidy for poor women under the Ujjwala Yojana into the next fiscal year, benefitting millions of families and costing the government ₹12,000 crore. The decision underscores the administration’s efforts to prioritize women’s welfare and foster economic stability in households across the country.
