PM Modi and Maharashtra Leaders Pay Respects to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj(Maratha empire founder), on his birth anniversary. Describing Shivaji as a visionary leader, fearless warrior, and guardian of culture, PM Modi highlighted his enduring legacy of good governance. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, honored Shivaji at the historic Shivneri Fort in Pune.

The leaders attended various commemorative events, including the traditional ‘cradle ceremony,’ symbolizing respect for Shivaji’s legacy. Born in 1630, Shivaji’s remarkable military prowess and administrative skills enabled him to establish a powerful empire by defeating the prevailing Muslim rulers, including the mighty Mughals.

Today, Shivaji continues to be revered not only for his military achievements but also for his exceptional administrative acumen, inspiring generations with his remarkable life story and leadership qualities.
