Playground for school girls developed by Nirbhaya Scheme

The Greater Chennai Corporation has allocated funds under the Nirbhaya Scheme to develop modern sports training grounds for girls in Chennai schools. The initiative aims to encourage girls to pursue a career in sports by providing advanced training facilities.

The Saidapet Chennai Girls Higher Secondary School in Ward 142 will have a 50-meter running track built for girls’ training. The plan includes the establishment of modern facilities for track and field events in multiple schools.

The initiative will benefit girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, who will receive free-of-cost advanced sports training. The project aims to promote gender equality and empower girls to excel in the field of sports.
