PIA Flight Attendant Arrested for Smuggling Saudi Currency
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendant has been placed on judicial remand after being caught smuggling 140,000 Saudi Riyals (approximately ₹10.4 million) at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. Detained on July 25, the suspect was found concealing the currency in her socks during a routine search before boarding flight PK 203 to Dubai.
Customs officials, acting on intelligence reports, registered an FIR against her under Section 139 of The Customs Act, 1969. A viral video showing the currency extraction has intensified scrutiny, and PIA has pledged immediate termination of her employment if convicted.
