Petrol Bomb Incident at Temple Unveils Frustration of Businessman

In a disturbing incident, a frustrated businessman in his thirties disrupted the sanctity of the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple in Kothawal Chavadi by hurling a petrol-filled bottle into its sanctum-sanctorum. The man, identified as J. Muralikrishnan, a regular temple-goer, was swiftly apprehended by police personnel, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Despite the temple priest’s warnings, Muralikrishnan proceeded with the attack, causing panic among devotees. The impact of the petrol bomb resulted in the burning of the deity’s garland.

Quick intervention by nearby traffic police led to the businessman’s capture as he attempted to escape. Initial investigations revealed that Muralikrishnan, residing in Seven Wells, Broadway, Chennai, was under the influence of alcohol and carried out the act in frustration due to his failing business.
