Personal Feud Halts Progress on Irula Tribal Housing Project

In Vadapattinam village, Lattur block, the construction of 21 houses for Irula tribals has hit a standstill due to personal animosity between the current panchayat president and a former official. This feud has led to a disruption in the curing process of cement, causing structural concerns and viral social media footage of shaky walls.

Despite each house’s construction cost of ₹4.50 lakh and the beneficiaries’ financial contributions, the incumbent president’s funding support has sparked discontent from the ex-president. Consequently, the beneficiaries, unable to proceed independently, find themselves caught in the crossfire of political discord, further delaying their much-needed housing initiative.
